STSA Concert 10.JPG
Photographer:
Joe O'Shaughnessy
Caption:
To mark the foundation of Something to Sing About - a Global Choir of cancer survivors, a celebration concert was held in the Salthill Hotel. A line up of artists gave their time and talents free of charge for the night. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Galway Hospice. Something to Sing About was set up in Galway by Prof Paul Donnellan, Consultant Oncologist. The choir is open to all cancer survivors and also people who are currently going through cancer. There is no age limit.   The main objective for which STSA was set up is to benefit the community by the provision of support for patients and survivors of cancer through a shared musical activity and counselling, music therapy, health talks and workshops. Members of Lackagh comhaltas are pictured performing at the concert.
