He landed in a helicopter at the Sportsground in College Road where he was greeted by Mayor of Galway, Paddy Ryan.
They proceeded by motorcade to Eyre Square where the President made a speech and was conferred with the freedom of the City.
The motorcade then went through the town to Salthill where the President was taken by helicopter from the car park beside Seapoint to Limerick.
The limosine is thronged by some of the 80,000 crowd as it pulled away from Eyre Square
