To Mark Eileen Molloy's 100th birthday a mass was celebrated at St Joseph's Church in the city last Saturday. President Michael D Higgins joined with Eileens family, relatives, neighbours and friends at the service. President Higgins is pictured with Eileen after the mass. To mark her birthday Eileen, who comes from Camus and now lives in Davis Road in Shantalla, was treated to a surprise street party organised by her family and neighbours. Eileen, a big fan of television presenter and Rose of Tralee host Dáithí Ó Sé, is met by him on her arrival at Davis Road where he announced to the crowd "I am bringing her down to the Rose of Tralee ... we have a winner already".
