Rolling on the river . . . . kayakers performing during the one-of-a-kind free musical spectacle on the Eglinton Canal between the bridge at New Road and waterfall further down this week. The Galway Kayaking Choir presented Voices on the Water as part of WTAF!?, the Westend Theatre and Arts Festival.
Singers performed from kayaks on the canal, joined by live musicians on the bank and paddlers moving in choreographed unison. The performance featured river-themed, kayaking-friendly songs - from folk favourites to soulful classics — all in celebration of water, nature and community.
Voluntary proceeds from the event will go to Oranmore Maree Coastal Search and Rescue.
